Information Technology Officer

The Information Technology function is positioned as a key component of the Operations team.

• You will lead the key functions of your department in the areas of service and support management, risk control, performance and valuation, application and system development and implementation and IT governance, by managing the teams and working according to nature and need of the subjects. In addition, you will work closely with other functions and external stakeholders of IT, including vendors and partners;
• You will be responsible for the creation and development of business applications and implementation of industry standard best-of-breed application packages (where applicable), using standard development and implementation methodologies and ensuring high quality of implementation and adherence to budgets and timelines;
• You will be responsible for developing, procuring, implementing and continuously improving an appropriate IT architecture, with appropriate server, storage, desktop, mobile and telecommunication infrastructure to meet business needs. You will also be responsible for developing, implementing and continuously improving service and support management processes and tools to support this architecture. You will use ITIL (or a similar framework) to ensure that the architecture and service management functions and processes are appropriately structured and resourced;
• You will be responsible for developing, implementing and maintaining an IT governance system (in collaboration with the overall compliance organization) and supporting performance and valuation, project prioritization and strategic alignment activities for the IT department and for the organization as appropriate. Also, you will own and lead Disaster Recovery planning to ensure business continuity;
• You will demonstrate flexibility, work across functions and departments, think conceptually and work for actionable strategies. You will be able to work in a fast-paced and dynamic environment, managing multiple deliverables by prioritizing and organizing workflow among the team-members while maintaining customer service orientation and managing expectations.

10+ years of technology management experience with progressive responsibility, working in the field of IT preferably at a high-technology asset management or investment banking organization. Furthermore:

• Combined all-round technical expertise with program management and process creation and improvement skills;
• Proven ability to stand out with their analytical and conceptual strength, and will have a demonstrated ability to promote organizational efficiency and implement solid technology solutions and supporting processes;
• Proven track record of working with core infrastructure systems (i.e. network, telecom, server/data centers), implementing processes (i.e. IT PMO, Service Desk etc.) and resilient technical platforms (i.e. bespoke and COTS application using agile method and RUP tools etc.) that ensure continuous improvement and place IT as a value-enhancing function;
• Proven ability to work cross-functionally, and will possess the skill to think conceptually and create actionable strategies;
• Able to work in a fast-paced environment, prioritizing tasks and making sound decisions;
• Proven ability to plan, structure and lead strategic and operational IT initiatives;
• Technical expertise across all core infrastructure systems, including topics such as storage, networking, security, server, and software architecture;
• Excellent communication skills, sound business acumen, and the intrinsic ability to think and act in a highly structured manner;
• Strong customer service orientation, and will be able to present technical ideas to non-technical audiences;
• Solid people management skills will enable you to lead and motivate teams of project managers, software engineers and other IT staff.

Our Preferred Candidate has:

• Implementation experience of development platforms and applications in the asset management business and good understanding of the business value chain;
• Become a Chief Information Technology Officer from hands-on technology background (e.g. software developer, solutions architect, database administrator etc.);
• A proven track record of design and development of financial models across multiple asset classes such as equity, fixed income, and alternatives;
• Built and managed a team of qualified IT professionals for many years, which will have delivered clear results.
